New things, new things

High pulp orange juice – I never quite had a taste for it. Hell, I hated it. I therefore avoided it for quite a number of years.

But I puchased high pulp orange juice today, and it felt vastly different. Different from what I’ve had before. Different from the taste of before. It’s refreshing.

There are other things I’ve thought were rather unfortunately bad, but maybe I’m wrong?

Perhaps carrots are delicious.

Explore: The Berkeley Hills

With the summer upon us, it’s important to take this opportunity to explore a bit before we’re pitted into new areas where, sadly, we’ll probably get lost.

I believe in the power of exploration – the ability to go out there and see and try unfamiliar “things”. So here it comes, Explore – a writeup of places that I’ve been, things I’ve done, and the such, that I’ve essentially found enjoyable. Please feel free to ditto, doppel, or whatever it is those youngsters today say for the term “do as I do”.

The Berkeley Hills is breathtaking stretch of road that encompasses views of a large part of the bay. Paved by Grizzly Peaks Blvd, it offers the most amazing view of the Bay Area. Spanning the heights, and offering very little in terms of obstruction. A stray tree may find it’s way to your camera lenses, but chances are, you’ll be able to find a little outcrop on the side of the road meant specifically for looking, pondering, what have you, the Bay Area in all it’s glory.

A word of caution, however, if you’re planning to take this trip by car, please do well to be careful. The Berkeley Hills has a lot of ups and downs, and curves, and other such obstacles that actually do require one to pay attention. It’s equally well to be careful if you’re deciding to take the route on bicycle – as I’ve seen many do.

If you’re ever vigilant, I would suggest going following Grizzly Peaks south, in which it will branch out into Skyline Blvd. Skyline has two places of interest to those that wish to follow it – Roberts Park, part of the Redwood Regional Park, and Chabot Space and Science Center – both excellent places to visit.

Skyline also provides much in the way viewing pleasure, but in the end splits changes into Golf Links Road – which, essentially, has a bunch of residential areas. This can be averted, by, probably, taking Redwood Road to Castro Valley. I’ve yet to take this route, but know that it leads to Lake Chabot Regional Park – which may offer more in the way of niceties.

So, please do well to be careful, enjoy yourselves, and feel free to post any in response to this little ideal. Tag it “explore” or something. If you’ve any experiences you’d like to share, or places of some interest, I’m sure someone out there would like to hear of it so that they may doppel or ditto.
