Just Here

Today is not a good day.

Well, it’s not a bad day either.

But for some reason I don’t feel fully engaged. I don’t really think I’ve been fully engaged in anything for a while now.

The lull of summer is getting to me. Compounded with this heat rash which limits me from running (i had a whole routine set up), or even exposing myself to the sun (a pastime that i’ve found quite enjoyable as of late), life is unfulfilled and boring.

I feel as if that’s what things are adding up to recently: nothing.

I want August to arrive already.

Homeward Bound

Finally, it’s done.

Home, home, home.

That word never sounded so right. And so much to look forward to. Food, family, friends, and, of course, my flame.

Adventures in the Night

i like these kinds of days

Winter break has been very good to me. The picture above is from Japantown, the one stationary store. Gary called it a practice in Engrish. But in general, I think it describes the break so far. Fickle headed, plan-changing spontaneity leads to wonderful days. And there’s nothing wrong with being fickle. There’s time to slow down.

And quite a few adventures – all of which involved the night.

It seems I find those kinds of joyrides, food outings, and forays into the city wilderness much more exciting in the darkness than in the light. Perhaps there’s the sense of danger that’s never really been there before.

I’ve noticed Denny’s can keep someone fed and dangerously caffeinated past midnight. I must have been there three times in the last two weeks – all at night. And then there was San Francisco – trekking through the streets at night was fun. Japanese food was delicious as well – twice. I think I prefer Mifune. I bought a new pencil as well. Pentel PG505. The balance on the pencil is quite amazing. I’m hoping I don’t lose it.

The thirty-first, tomorrow, around night time… Perhaps see all the explosions in the sky?

Apologies for fragmented thoughts.
